Can I claim for allergy covers via Extras cover?
Eligibility
To claim for anti-allergy covers for mattresses, pillows or quilts you need to be on Top Extras with any applicable waiting period served.
Products
You may be able claim towards products that are:
- Endorsed by the National Asthma Council Sensitive Choice Program (look for the Sensitive Choice blue butterfly logo)
- Purchased from a registered Australian business with a physical presence in Australia.
Claiming
When submitting your claim, please include:
- Completed Aids and Appliances form signed by your doctor (this will be valid for 12 months, after which you'll need to submit another form to claim this benefit).
- Itemised tax invoice that shows the name of the patient (i.e. the person who’ll be using the covers).
Limits
Like most services under the Artificial Aids & Appliances benefit, Allergy cover for mattress and pillow has an annual sub-limit.
