You’re not alone
Experiencing depression or anxiety (or both), can be isolating. We’re committed to helping eligible UniHealth members get the support they need through their journey*.
We proudly offer two programs aimed at providing mental health support including the Mental Wellness Program and Wellbeing4Life.
The first step begins with a quick phone call with one of our experienced health professionals. They’ll ask you a few questions to understand where you’re at, and if either program is likely to be beneficial (and safe) for you. They'll also confirm your eligibility for the program.
Mental Wellness Program
The Mental Wellness Program might be right for you if:
- You have symptoms or a diagnosis of anxiety and/or depression and require support managing your symptoms, and
- You can be supported safely and appropriately through a phone-based service, and
- You are having difficulty accessing services within the community.
How it works
Delivered in partnership with our specialist mental health services partner, St John of God Langmore Centre, we’ll connect you with a mental health professional for a comprehensive assessment and care plan.
This phone-based service has two components:
- Mental wellness – phone sessions with an empathetic mental health professional. Working with the same person each time creates a safe space for you to get the most out of your conversations. The program content is tailored to you – common themes include developing strategies to build resilience, managing anxiety and/or depression and supporting emotional wellbeing.
- Nutrition – phone consults with a Healthcare Services Accredited Practising Dietitian. This element of the program recognises the importance of nutrition in our mental health.
Wellbeing4Life
The Wellbeing4Life Program might be right for you if:
- You've received a mental health diagnosis, and
- You've had one or more overnight hospital admissions for mental health concerns in the previous 12 months, and
- Community based care is an appropriate and safe alternative to care in hospital.
How it works
In collaboration with our specialist mental health services partner, Mind Australia, this program offers a comprehensive assessment and care plan from a mental health professional.
Treatment and support are delivered in different ways, depending on what best suits your situation, including: outreach (visits at home); clinic appointments; telehealth and group activities.

To be eligible for these programs, you must:
- Have a hospital product with the 2-month waiting period served and be paid up to date, and
- Be 18 years or older, and
